MLA Hon Jim Reiter, Rosetown-Elrose

God in Heaven, we pray for Hon. Jim Reiter today.  He has been entrusted with a challenging and complex portfolio as Minister of Health.  Help him as he oversees and provides leadership to this crucial area of our province.  Help him to see past the difficulties and problems and into the possibilities that are buried within them.  Give him and the people who work with him fresh ideas and approaches that will bring creative solutions to this important area.  More than anything, we pray that his burden would be light and that he would look to You for wisdom and counsel as he serves.  Bless him today!  Amen

Jim Reiter was first elected as the MLA for Rosetown-Elrose in the 2007 provincial election. He was re-elected in 2011 and 2016.
Professionally, Jim has extensive experience in municipal governance. Among his educational accomplishments is a senior certificate in Local Government Administration from the University of Regina. He also served six years on the U of R Senate. Jim has served his community as a Justice of the Peace and Marriage Commissioner.
Following the formation of a Saskatchewan Party government, Premier Brad Wall asked Jim to serve as the Legislative Secretary to the Minister of Education with specific responsibility for the Property Tax Initiative.
Until 2012, Jim served as the Minister of Highways and Infrastructure and the Minister responsible for Saskatchewan Transportation Company, at which time Premier Wall appointed him Minister of Government Relations and Minister Responsible for First Nations, Métis and Northern Affairs.
In 2014, Reiter picked up the added responsibility for SaskEnergy and, in 2015, his portfolio expanded once again when he was given the further role of Minister responsible for Saskatchewan Telecommunications. He currently serves as Minister of Health, and as vice-chair of the caucus Legislation and Regulation Review Committee.
Jim and his wife Bonnie reside in Rosetown.
