Hon. Devin Doherty – Regina Northeast


Lord God, we ask that You bless Honorable Devin Doherty for his commitment and service to the Province. Thank You for him giving him strength to fulfill his many duties. We pray that as he works to form new policies that You would guide him in this important work. Lord, bless Mr. Doherty and his family and keep them safe. Amen.

Kevin was first elected to the Saskatchewan Legislature in November 2011 for the constituency of Regina Northeast. Soon after, Kevin was appointed to serve as a member of Treasury Board. Born in Rose Valley, Kevin Doherty’s parents Lenora and Mike still live on the family farm.

After graduating from Rose Valley High School, Kevin earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Saskatchewan in 1985.

In his professional life, he has worked as a division director for Investors Group (he was formely a certified financial planner), the director of government relations for Bayer Healthcare, as well as the manager of provincial relations for Glaxo Wellcome. Recently, Kevin served as the vice-president of corporate relations for SaskPower.

Kevin has a strong and diverse track record of community involvement. His service includes former president of the University of Saskatchewan Students’ Union; former member of the University of Saskatchewan board of governors; former vice-chair of the Hospitals of Regina Foundation; former member of the Regina Chamber of Commerce board of directors; and former president of the Saskatchewan Special Olympics.

In May 2012, Premier Brad Wall appointed Kevin as the Minister of Parks, Culture & Sport. In addition, Kevin was appointed as Minister responsible for the Provincial Capital Commission which includes: Interprovincial Lotteries, Saskatchewan Centre of the Arts, Saskatchewan Arts Board, Western Development Museum, Meewasin Valley Authority, Wascana Centre Authority, Wakamow Valley Authority and Wanuskewin Heritage Park Authority.

Kevin enjoys spending time at the cabin in northern Saskatchewan, travelling, golfing, reading, motorcycling and snowmobiling.
