Hon David Marit, Wood River

Father we lift up Hon. David Marit to You today and thank You for his extensive political background. May his experience continue to serve him in both a positive and productive work environment each day.   Bless David and his wife with good health and a sense of joy and peace in the days ahead.  In Jesus Name Amen.

David Marit was elected MLA for Wood River on April 4, 2016. Born and raised in the area, he has very strong ties to his community. 

David currently owns and operates a farm with his brother. In addition to his busy professional life, he has volunteered extensively in his community. He served on RM Council since 1993 and, in 1999, he was elected to SARM Board as Director for Division 2 where he served as President until winning the nomination for the Saskatchewan Party.

He currently volunteers as a board member for the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan. David currently serves as the Minister of Agriculture and Minister responsible for Saskatchewan Crop Insurance Corporation. He was previously Minister of Highways and Infrastructure, Minister responsible for SaskBuilds, and a member of the Standing Committee on Intergovernmental Affairs and Justice.

He and his wife Lois have one son, one daughter, and two granddaughters.
