“When I look at the sky, see the
work of your fingers, the moon and the stars you set in place, what is mankind
that you should think about them, human beings that you should care for them?
Yet
you made them a little lower than the angels and crowned them with glory and honor. You put them in charge of
everything you made, putting all things under their authority.” Psalm 8:3-6
Lord of heaven and earth,
creator of all things, how majestic is your name! How detailed, interdependent,
and glorious is your creation! We are humbled that you’ve chosen us to be
stewards of your magnificent world and all that is contained within it – the
trees and the fields, the rivers and the oceans, the mountains and the valleys,
the resources, and all living things. Grant us wisdom, strength, and grace to
care for your world in ways that demonstrate our love for you, for others, and
for all that you’ve created. Amen.
