60 Days of Prayer - May You Lead Lord

Heavenly Father, thank you for each of our leaders, representatives, and advisors on both sides of the legislature.  We pray they would lead courageously, truthfully, humbly and with integrity. May they learn from the past and desire to lead inwhat is best for all people. May they be good stewards of our resources, and recognize that all blessings come from you, so Canada would be blessed. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Dear Heavenly Father, we come to you with thankful hearts for all you've accomplished through us in the past, and for what you will do in our future.  We are reminded of Stephen as he recounts Israel's history in Acts 7, and are encouraged that if we remain obedient, you are faithful.  I pray for those in supporting roles in our Government to use their influence to serve your interests and point our leaders to seek your face.In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Today Lord, as the sun rises, your name is to be praised. We ask that you would appoint those whom you call to this place of service - godly, righteous men and women who fear you. Your word tells us that when the righteous thrive, the people rejoice. Position those whom you have called for this day and bless them with an unwavering trust in you. Raise them up and establish them. We ask for your blessing, your counsel, and your divine will in all matters.

Dear Lord, today we pray that you would guide the nature of our electoral campaign. May conversations be marked by truth, compassion, wisdom, and clarity. May each of the candidates be able to look back on their campaign with a sense of pride in the way they represented themselves.

Dear Lord, defend and guard each candidate’s heart against pride and envy so that campaigns take place with honesty, humility, wisdom, and regard for the people of our province above platforms. Without wise leadership a nation falls, so reveal to our leaders the way of righteousness, which will ultimately exalt our province and nation.

Heavenly Father, we honour our leaders as those with authority, given the immense task of leading our province, and we thank you for them. Direct, strengthen, and protect them as they campaign throughout this election. We pray that each political party and leader would honour one another, and by so doing further release your blessing of honour, favour and prosperity upon our province.

We humbly ask for the presence and guidance of your Holy Spirit to reside and rule over this election. Remind us that all things made - thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities - in the unseen world as well as the communities in which we live, are created by you and for you. We boldly ask that your will and purposes prevail in our province during this election.

Dear Lord may the discussions and debates surrounding issues become stepping stones towards finding positive long term solutions.  We ask for clarity, that people would be able to understand what is being presented and promised, and would have the foresight to imagine what Saskatchewan could become. We know that all authority is established by you and through you, so we pray that your will would be done in this campaign.

60 Days of Prayer - Walking in Your Wisdom

Lord we pray that this time of campaigning would be marked by honour and integrity for all involved.  May they walk in wisdom and speak in truth. May this be a season where relationships and trust are built; trust between those in leadership, as well as between the leaders and the people of Saskatchewan. May we not get caught up in trivial questions and ideas, but may those issues that will greatly influence the future of Saskatchewan and its people come into the light.

God we thank you for your kindness that led us to repentance. May we show each other, our communities and leaders, your heart of mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Give us and our leaders the humility to serve each other’s needs, kindness to turn away anger, gentleness to drive out fear, and mercy to make a place of safety for all. We ask for your heart for this province and all who call it home. We pray that compassion would lay the foundation for decisions made and drive the hearts and minds that make them. Amen.
